Our client, a leading and highly successful global organisation with a reputation for developing and marketing premium and quality products are seeking an experienced and dynamic Associate Category Manager to join their Procurement and Sourcing team.
With energy and skill, your role will be to partner with business stakeholders to support indirect category strategy development and end to end sourcing and contracting processes for complex categories.
The Role
As part of your role you will carry out the following tasks (includes but not limited to):
• Partner with key stakeholders to develop indirect procurement plans and category strategies
• Manage complex competitive sourcing activities
• Review product and pricing with suppliers
• Negotiate and develop contracts for final legal review
• Lead organisational development activities in sourcing excellence
• Evaluate business specifications and statements of work
• Perform business risk and continuity assessments
• Coordinate supplier reviewer processes in collaboration with business partners
The Candidate
The successful candidate will possess:
• Previous indirect procurement and/or category management experience
• Energy and drive to ensure end to end sourcing excellence
• Prior experience working in a multinational organisation is preferred
• Excellent ability to partner and influence business stakeholders, suppliers and others to achieve desired business outcomes
• Strong aptitude for diagnosing and solving problems
• Exceptional analytical and communications, customer service and negotiation skills
• Relevant qualifications including CPM/CPSM/CSCP/CPIM are preferred
• Knowledge and proficiency with SAP and Ariba preferred
